Magicians visiting Ireland on vacation will find a warm welcome. With eight societies and an abundance of meetings and events going on throughout the year it is fairly likely that at least one gathering of sorts will coincide with your visit. As a courtesy you should contact the secretary of the society you intend to visit.

Lecturers

The following is by no means the gospel on lecturing in Ireland but it should help magicians planning a lecture tour in Ireland.

There are at the time of writing 8 magic societies/clubs in Ireland.

2 In Northern Ireland
The Mid Ulster Magic Circle (MUMC) & The Ulster Society of Magicians (USM)

2 in Dublin
The Society of Irish Magicians (SIM) & and The Mystic Circle of Magicians (The Mystics)

3 in Southern Ireland
The Southern Brotherhood of Magicians (SBM), The Munster Society of Magicians (MSM) and the more recently established Mid-west Magic Society (MWMS)

IBM Ring 85 covers the whole of Ireland. Ring 85 do not hold monthly meetings or lectures however.

Many magicians are members of multiple societies in Ireland and as a result it is not really feasible to lecture in all of them. Doing so would dilute your audience. Typically visiting magicians will lecture in one of the northern societies, one of the Dublin societies and one of the southern societies in any one trip. This results in bigger attendances at each lecture and hopefully more sales in lecture notes and merchandise for you.

In some cases, depending on the time of the year it is possible to fly in Monday, lecture that evening, Tuesday evening, Wednesday Evening and fly out Thursday morning. This kind of arrangement is a win-win. It allows you as a lecturer to optimise your earning potential and allows Irish magic societies - who are more often then not working with limited budgets - to split the costs of travel.

Please be aware that neither IrishMagicNews or it's owner are in the business of organising lecture tours.  Although there are always exceptions to the rule most overseas lecturers are 1) flying in from the UK or 2) already in Ireland on a vacation.  Both of these options make it possible for Irish Societies to host their lecture.  Flying lecturers in from mainland Europe, the US and further afield coupled with accommodation costs and lecture fees more often then not makes this a very costly exercise.

Remember we are only a short commuter flight from any Brittish airport so if you are planning a lecture tour of the UK remember to get in touch with Irish magic societies also.
Bear in mind when travelling with some airlines you are
allowed a maximum of 25kg baggage weight. 
15gk in the hold and 10kg carry on luggage.
