Will McGrath's One Night Stand

Some of you will remember the name of Will McGrath from a story we did back on the 2nd of September in which he was one of the escorts for the Rose of Tralee Festival.  It seems that Will has a bit of a thing for public dating as he has just appeared on RTE 2's dating show One Night Stand.  During the show Will perform magic for some of the ladies but does this mean he pulls?  Well your gonna have to watch the recording to find out.  You can watch the show on the RTE Player until 30th December by clicking here.

Will McGrath's Magic's The Roses

As we reported back on the 12th April here SIM member Will McGrath (bottom right of picture) was one of the lucky few who was chosen to be an escort for this years Rose of Tralee Festival.  Will was chaperoning the New Orleans Rose, Lizzy Wales.  We asked Will how the experience was and whether he managed to perform his miracles over the course of the week in Tralee,

"Yah.  I was a hit with the roses and the family and friends.  It became my party piece.  I did it everywhere, to the roses, the families, the friends, RTE, Rose TV, a few journos, lay people, maybe about 300 or 400 tricks a night.  I went through about 8 or 9 decks down there and that is no joke, mind you the bar literally stayed open all night for us and I'd often crawl into bed with literally an hour left to get up.  But it honestly was the best time of my life.  I didn't try to network though, I wasn't there for that.  I was just there to entertain and make people smile, and that was certainly the case.  Particularly Bruised (by creative magic) and a ghost deck (Mesika loops), a couple of my own tricks and a few from Derren Browns repertoire.  Particularly, and I have to give it a mention, cause it got me everywhere... Zamiels Rose, one of Derren's tricks I got permission off him to perform, and was hugely popular!"

Who is the magician who is also an escort?

Will McGrath working as an escort?  SIM member and amateur magician Will McGrath,(pictured middle back) will soon be working as a male escort.  Fear not however as Will has been chosen to be the Kildare escort for the upcoming Rose of Tralee Festival.  Posting on his Facebook page Will says he was chosen from dozens of hopefuls at an event last Saturday night in Kilashee.  For international visitors the festival is a bit like Miss World yet not at all like it.  Ladies from or with Irish lineage compete in what was parodied in the superb Farther Ted as a "lovely girls contest".  Each lady is accompanied for their time at the Festival by a chaperone or as they are rather coloquially names "escorts".
