Broken Wand - Wallace Blair

We have just learned the sad news that USM member Wallace Blair has passed away.  We reported in Issue 6, posted only two days ago, that Wallace was in ill health.  Unfortunately Wallace succumbed to his illness on Wednesday 5th August.  Although unable to attend meetings and conventions in recent years, Wallace had remained very active in magic through the internet forums and his love of magic continued to show through his many posts.  Wallace will be sadly missed by his many many friends in Irish magic.  On behalf of the entire magic community in Ireland we offer our sincerest condolences to his wife Kate, daughter Samantha, extended family and his many friends. Funeral will take place at Roselawn Crematorium, Ballygowan Road, Crossnacreevy, Co. Antrim at 2pm on Tuesday 11th August.

While talking to Samantha, Wallace's daughter on Facebook, she mentioned that a photo of her Mum and Dad greet visitors to her new apartment.  That same photo now greets visitors to this page too.

Wallace Blair is in ill-health

Paul Gomac sends us the following sad news. 

"Just a note to let you know that Wallace Blair from Bangor is very ill at the moment.  'The Blairs', Wallace his wife Kate and daughter Samantha have been associated with Magic in Ireland for many years.  Wallace and Samantha are currently members the U.S.M. and Ring 85.  Before John Bowden took over the post, Wallace was the Irish Territorial Vice President of the IBM.  I know they have a lot of friends in Magic throughout Ireland, so perhaps you could mention it on the site".
