The name of Terry Willers may not sound a bell to magicians the decent side of thirthy. But to an entire generation of working professional magicians in Dublin it was Terry's terrific cartoons that adorned their publicity. Terry's cartoons captured the fabulous and colourful shows in the days long before modern desktop publishng and graphic design.
The Punch cartoon above is one of a series of cartoons that were especially commisioned from Terry by Quentin Reynolds. The picture on the left is form RTÉ's website and taken from Halls Pictorial Weekly. I became aware of Terry's passing through a post from Niall O 'Loughlin on Facebook. In it Niall links to a wonderful piece from The Irish Times by Martyn Turner. RIP.
