David Williamson has been added to Ron's Day line up

Star of the recent Shenanigans convention David Williamson has been added to the line up for The 40th International Magic Convention.  From the organisers ...

International Magic are very happy to announce that David Williamson, magic’s greatest comedic force of nature, will be one of the many artists appearing at their 40th Anniversary Convention in London later this year (November 18-20). David will be performing in both the Close Up and Stage Gala Shows, and also no doubt popping up in the most of unexpected of places.  It marks one of a repeat number of appearances at the Convention (known affectionately as “Ron’s” after Ron MacMillan who started the Convention back in 1970) since 1984 when David made his debut UK convention appearance at this very gathering. Once again this year we plan to introduce similar artistes who, although may be unknown to you now, are in our minds destined to become the next big names in magic. Registration details here

The Video :: John Bowden, Honorary Life Patron of The SIM

Here it is.  The video you have all been waiting for.  On Saturday 30th April 2011 at The Shenanigans Banquet John Bowden, along with Séamus Hanratty and Pat Fallon, was made Honorary Life Patron of The SIM.  As part of the fun of the weekend David Williamson recounted a story of a prank that ought to go down in the annals of Irish magic.  A prank that, unknown to some was actually captured on security camera as it happened.

Special mention to Nevin Cody for the idea, Ciaran McCormack for putting it all together, Eamon Murphy for camera work and to Paul Wilson for directing the shoot.  Cast include Brendan as himself, Nevin as himself, Natalie as Pat Fallon, Brian Daly as John Bowden and David Williamson as himself.

Confused?  Click play below and get ready to laugh out loud or download the video here.

All of this plus more exciting performers and lecturer's to be announced means we are very excited about the future of Irish magic and hope that with the support and goodwill of all on this island that we all benefit form what lies ahead.

We have developed a designated convention site for Shenanigans which you can view at www.irishmagicconvention.com  There you will be able to register your interest in attending, become a fan on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to keep abreast of developments."
