Seasons Greetings from SIM President Nevin Cody

SIM President Nevin Cody sent us along the following message for you this Christmas.

Where has 2010 gone!

It has been a fantastic year for Irish Magic with great conventions, lectures and we even had a new club formed in Limerick.  Keith Barry’s show continues to draw the crowds and we are all looking forward to his new T.V. show in 2011. Jack Wise won the world street championships, Pat Fallon wowed them in the USA with his shows and lecture, Pat, Jack and Joe Daly also appearing on TV. I could not leave out the hugely successful Secret Castle of Magic which is still in the top ten on trip advisor. These are just a few highlights of a great year and there are many more at national and local level with magicians from across our island entertaining and promoting our wonderful art.

This Xmas I have the honour and pleasure as president of the Society of Irish Magicians to wish all SIM members and your families a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year, thank you for helping make our club great. To past SIM members who we may not have seen in a while for many different reasons I send on behalf of the club the same wish to you and your families and I really do hope we will see you all soon, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to come visit us during 2011 we have lots of new things happening and would love to have your input and who knows you might even become members again.

Lastly to members of all other clubs across our island North and South, our friends in UK and throughout the world the SIM wish you all a Peaceful Christmas and a Magical New Year.

2011 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year we have two new shows on prime time TV on ITV and BBC kicking off on BBC Christmas Eve and from what I am hearing the show recordings have gone well. We kick the New year off in SIM with Noel Britten doing a work shop which was fully booked out in double quick time and then later in the evening Noel will lecture all welcome. What a start to the New Year. Our neighbour club the Mystics will have Bill Abbott in April and in May we have the highlight of Irish Magical calendar the IBM convention for all details and updates keep checking Irish Magic News.
